Laura was born in Colindres, Cantabria. She began her musical studies at the early age of five, playing the piano and singing in various choirs.
In 1999 she began to study singing at the conservatoire Jesús de Monasterio in Santander with the singers María Bravo and María del Mar Fernández Doval.
In 2010 she obtained her singing qualifications with the highest marks under the direction of the celebrated mezzosoprano Maite Arruabarrena, a teacher in the music college Musikene, the Higher Conservatoire in the Basque Country.
She has received masterclasses from Raquel Andueza, Carlos Chausson and Raina Kabaivanska; also from the pianists Enrique Ricci and Maciej Pikulski, both of whom often accompany great artists like Renée Fleming, María Bayo and José Carreras, among others. She is currently studying with the soprano Olatz Saitua.
She has recently played the role of Vagans in Händel’s Juditha Triumphans with the group Canticum and has sung in the Evolución Festival in Burgos, also in the sixteeth edition of the festival Primaveras Pejinas which takes place in Laredo, Cantabria.
Laura has sung in the Festival de Música Sacra de Bilbao with the french orchestra, Lachrimae Consort, and in the production and recording of two works: La Misa de Aránzazu and La Stella by Domenico Scarlatti.
Laura has taken part in a number of singing competitions, for example, The Julián Gayarre, The Montserrat Caballé and also recent Concurso Internacional Luis Mariano, in which she obtained the prize for Promising Young Singer.
Recently she attends to the Salzburg Mozarteum Sommerakademie, being selected by Helen Donath to receive masterclasses; Laura also acts in the halls Liedertafel and Wiener Saal of the Austrian city.
She also intervenes in the Santander’s Early Music Cycle and acts as soloist with the ensemble of the Academy of Music Baroque of Cantabria. At present she divides her time between teaching and performing.
